Honoring Those Who Serve

Twice a year Windham Hill UCC sends cards expressing our appreciation, love and gratitude to many military personnel and first responders associated with our congregation. Through the generosity of donations, we are able to enclose a gift card with each greeting. This ministry began back in 2003 when our familiy members and good friends were deployed to foreign combat areas. Started in honor of Catherine Olson, a proud World War II Women’s Army Corps veteran and mother of one of our congregants, the tradition has continued for every Christmas and Fourth of July for almost 20 years. At the time of this writing, Catherine (Kay) is still living (101 years old!) and still loves to share her stories of serving during that historic war.
